Join our team in Commerce City and help support our Final Mile Solutions team, through our partnership with Kroger. At EAS, you will experience a fast-paced and diverse environment.

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for operating the facility within budget and overseeing warehouse activities, including hiring, training, and vendor reporting. Additionally, they must ensure the facility follows all best practices and meets HACCP/AIB requirements.

Essential Functions of the Role:

Leadership:

  • Create balance and sustain a "WE Will Win as One" mentality across all aspects of the company's purpose, spirit, and vision.
  • Work in conjunction with Human Resources to train, develop, and retain employees through training and leadership programs.

Learning, Development, and Coaching

  • Determine when training is necessary and what type of training is suitable.
  • Encourage and assist employees to focus on solutions and not problems, as well as collaborate with other Supervisors to identify solutions to issues and adjust standard work within the production department.
  • Communicate job expectations, plan, monitor, and assess job results, coach, counsel, and discipline employees, initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, screening, and retention of all warehouse employees.

Management

  • Keep employees informed about department goals and expectations.
  • Audit and validate employee time and attendance. Record and track employee attendance, issue warnings, and disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Maintain staff by interviewing, selecting, orienting, and facilitating training employees, and developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Manage, coordinate, and supervise the daily activities of warehouse associates.
  • Update standard work for all positions annually or when improvements or changes are made.
  • Resolve employee relations issues.

Operations/Supply Chain Logistics

Cross-Functional

  • Liaise and negotiate with internal and external customers; suppliers, consumers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints

Inventory Management

  • Keep track of quality, quantity, and stock levels. Use FIFO best practices

Financial and Performance Management

  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Transport costs and efficiency
  • Delivery times

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive customer and employee success by seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Champion change throughout the organization
  • Use the Spirit of EA Sween to guide decisions.
  • Build a Culture Survey action plan and oversee its completion to improve employee satisfaction.

Health and Safety

  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on using all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures (in-house and regulatory) to decrease the potential for employee injuries. Acts as a point of contact for after-hours employees and plant security.
  • Request onsite drug screening for safety incidents with property damage, for reasonable suspicion (behavioral incidence)-after hrs. Consult with HR and Management regarding the next steps.

Food Safety and Quality Control

  • Assures team members are following all procedures to ensure we safely handle all food. Maintain HACCP/AIB, FSMA, and Best Practice qualifications and ensure audit compliance.
  • Work with Senior management to ensure all corrective actions are taken when the product is out of spec.
  • Ensure that all employees, including new employees, are adequately trained, instructed, and supervised in food safety principles and practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Warehouse, Distribution, or Supply Chain background
  • Good understanding of basic math skills
  • Must be able to read and speak basic English
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
  • Excellent Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • A strong understanding and experience with providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both with internal and external customers.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and can maintain or obtain a DOT Medical Card.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have good teamwork and effectively communicate with others.
  • Ability to pass applicable criminal background checks and drug screens.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, or when requested to support the 24/7 business.

Preferred Qualification (if Applicable):

  • HACCP / AIB (Food Security) training/certifications
  • Previous leadership roles
  • Previous forklift experience
  • Previous experience in distribution and picking systems
  • Previous experience with ERP, Warehousing, or Inventory technology
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs
  • Ability to push/pull 250 lbs
  • Ability to operate a 2 - 4-wheel handcart.
  • Step safely in/out and operate company route trucks per company standard practices and DOT regulations.
  • Bend, turn, twist, step up, lift overhead, push, and pull.
  • Must be able to perform kneeling, squatting, turning, reaching over shoulder height, waist level & from the floor.
  • Work in a widely varying temperature environment indoors and outdoors, including all weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to work all hours, days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be highly motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work well with various levels of employees and diverse cultures
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
